Alas, my favorite season is here. I find myself in a park sitting on the ground with my back against a large, sturdy tree. One of my favorite places to be - completely held by the earth. I watch the trees wave to one another up in the sky, as the cool, fresh wind blows amongst them.
Swaying. Dancing. Being.
I pull out a piece of paper, and without effort, these words fall out of my being:
Autumn Musings
I am content as a leaf laying along the bed of the earth.
I let go of control and surrender to the contrast and ever-changing hues of color.
I admire the beauty of imperfection, the loveliness and intricacies of each unique autumn leaf.
I feel the cool, fresh air envelop me, wrapping around my skin like a hug from Mother Nature herself.
Impermanence is the blessed reminder that calls us deeper into presence, rootedness.
Letting go of perfection is the entryway to peace.
Endings and beginnings are but one and the same.
Earth is our Mother, our Giver, our Teacher, our Healer. She is one with us. We are one with her.
To pay reverence to the earth is to honor the divinity of the creator and to see the divinity in all.
Nature is the revelation of the creator, of the divine. You are an expression of the Divine Itself.
There is beauty in the not knowing.
The Sacred In-between is where most of life - most of our growth - takes place. Honor the Sacred In-between. There is Wisdom in uncertainty.
What more is there to know in this moment than to recognize the divinity within you - in all your unique hues and color - and to cherish this precious breath?
Is your breath not the spirit of the divine within you?
You are an autumn leaf. An expression of the Divine.
In this season, what is the spirit calling you deeper toward?
